Production
The Syrah was fermented with no additions (i.e. nutrients, commercial yeast), partially in 600 litre French-oak puncheons which gave it an incredible smell and mouthfeel, even in the early months. Following fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak, 20% new.
Tasting notes
On the nose this wine brings a medley of purple and blue fruit, nutty pie-crust, and varietal spiciness. Velvety in texture, an immediate rush of savoury fruit on the palate mingles with gaminess and clove.
