Autumn initially recorded below-average\u003cbr\u003etemperatures, with abundant rainfall and a drop in temperature at\u003cbr\u003ethe end of November, which favoured the vegetative halt of the\u003cbr\u003eplants and the natural elimination of pests. Rain continued in\u003cbr\u003ewinter, ensuring a good water reserve. Spring began with aboveaverage temperatures, interrupted by a sudden and brief\u003cbr\u003etemperature drop that led to a reduction of buds in the early\u003cbr\u003evineyards. This reduced the load on the plants and allowed for\u003cbr\u003ecorrect pigmentation and maturation of the grapes. Summer was\u003cbr\u003echaracterised by intense heat, but thanks to the microclimate of\u003cbr\u003eBolgheri and the hilltop location of the vineyards, no signs of\u003cbr\u003edistress were observed. A significant rain in mid-August led to a\u003cbr\u003etemperature drop, favouring the proper maturation of the grapes.\u003cbr\u003e“The 2022 vintage was neither easy nor generous in terms of yield.\u003cbr\u003eHowever, the quality of the grapes - especially the Cabernet\u003cbr\u003eSauvignon from hillside vineyards - exceeded expectations. The\u003cbr\u003evintage stands out for its freshness, with higher total acidity\u003cbr\u003ecompared to previous years, lower alcohol levels, and reduced dry\u003cbr\u003eextract. During the harvest, we acted promptly, using controlled\u003cbr\u003etemperatures during winemaking and moderate délestage to\u003cbr\u003eavoid excessive tannin extraction.
